Forward Your Mail
If you want to have your mail returned to your home address there are two options:
- If you did a Change of Address with USPS and did a temporary one (for six months) or a permanent one (and are still in the first year of the request) you can cancel it directly with USPS using the 16-digit confirmation code they emailed you. Here’s a guide on how: How to update or cancel your existing USPS Mail Forwarding request
- If step 1 doesn’t work you’ll need to contact all your senders and let them know what your home address is. (It is not possible to do a Change of Address from your address with us to your home address because USPS doesn’t allow that. They don’t recognize each mailbox our customers have as a unique building.)
A note about USPS regulations: Per United States Postal regulations, mail addressed to an addressee at a Commercial Mail Receiving Agent (CMRA) is not forwarded through USPS.
It is a long-standing USPS policy that only addressees can refuse mail, and the CMRA agent is not the addressee. CMRA is unable to refuse mail for its customers because the customer is the addressee, not the CMRA agent, even after the account is closed, for until 6 months after closure.
Following these regulations, US Global Mail, being a CMRA, is required to accept mail of former customers for up to 6 months after termination of service. After the 6-month period, US Global won’t accept mail addressed to a former customer.
USPS rules also stipulate that a CMRA cannot return mail to sender, or return it to the Post Office, or redeposit mail in the mail stream without new postage.
